20 kid-friendly things to do in Southwest Florida

When you think of Southwest Florida how many kid-friendly activities come to mind? Pretty much slim to none, we suspect. 

Actually, you will be surprised to know Naples, Fort Myers and Bonita Springs have many activities that you can do with your kids and grandkids to keep them happy while in Southwest Florida.

From a beach day to a day exploring the zoo, there are a variety of places to go and things to see with children. The best part is that there are many family-friendly activities to keep the parents and grandparents smiling too.

Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples

The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples allows children to open their imagination while exploring and learning through play. The museum has hands-on exhibits, a water play station, and a two-story banyan tree for the kids to climb. There are many special activities each day to encourage visitors to get involved. Sun-N-Fun Lagoon

Sun-N-Fun Lagoon is located in North Naples off Livingston Road. This water park is great for kids of all ages. Sun-N-Fun features water slides, diving boards, a lazy river, and an area for toddlers to play. The park also has a lap pool for parents wanting to get some exercise while their kids play. Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens

Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is a great place to get your kids outside while they learn about different animals from around the world. In the zoo, you’ll find many birds, reptiles and mammals. Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours

Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours gives parents the opportunity to take their kids through 259 acres in the Everglades. With the option of different tours, you have the ability to plan your day however you’d like. There is even a live alligator show that will give you and your kids the chance to hug an alligator. Lowdermilk Park

Bring your kids for a day in the sun at Lowdermilk Park. The beach has a children’s park with a pond out front, bathroom facilities and volleyball courts. Cambier Park

Cambier Park is located right in the heart of Naples just off Fifth Avenue South. The park is kid-friendly and has a children’s playground for kids to play. Naples Botanical Garden

Naples Botanical Garden is a relaxing, quiet place to visit if you’d like to see the beauty of Florida’s nature. The garden features an area specifically for children called, “Smith Children’s Garden.” This area gives children the opportunity to visit some of Florida’s ecosystems on land and in the sea. Here, kids have the opportunity to climb to the top of a treehouse, create artwork with chalk and even experience what it's like to crawl through river grass through the perspective of a spider. Naples Cyclery

Naples Cyclery offers a great way to keep your kids active while still exploring Naples. Imaginarium Science Center is a hands-on learning experience that gives kids the opportunity to learn while having fun. Congo River Golf

Congo River Golf is a safari-themed, 18-hole mini golf course. The course features water falls, rivers and tunnels to create a challenging but fun time for kids. Zoomers Amusement Park
