Fort Myers gets a make-ogre as 'Shrek the Musical' barrels into town

For the second time in less than a year, Fort Myers is going green. Last year it was "Young Frankenstein." Now, the elephantine emerald ogres in "Shrek the Musical" trundle into town for eight dates at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall. Just how easy it, exactly, being green?

"A lot of parents come in thinking this is going to be 'Shrek Live," Jordan muses. "This isn't. It is a Broadway show. There's nothing like live theater. Everyone needs a little bit of culture. Everyone needs a little bit of fun - and this is going to be all of those things. Everyone's gonna like it!"

  • Christmas comes to Palm Cottage - Christmas comes to historic Palm Cottage, home of the Naples Historical Society starting Tuesday, Nov. 15. The circa 1895 house is Naples’ oldest house and the only one in the city to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
